YEAR 2025: Possibly the second warmest year globally since records began.

The European Union’s Earth Observation Service, “COPERNICUS,” warns of the ACCELERATION of climate change.

SOME FACTS:

From January to November, the average surface air temperature was 0.60°C higher than the average temperature between 1991 and 2020, which corresponds to an increase of 1.48°C above the estimated temperature between 1850 and 1900.

Until 2025, the year 2023 was the second warmest year.

For the month of November 2025, the average surface temperature was 14.02°C, 0.65°C above the average November temperature between 1991 and 2020, 0.20°C below the warmest November of 2023, and 0.08°C below the second warmest November of 2024.

In November 2025, global temperatures were 1.54°C above pre-industrial levels, and the average temperature for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 will exceed 1.5°C for the first time.

This scenario reflects the acceleration of climate change, and we only have one way to stop the escalation and mitigate future temperature increases: “URGENTLY REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS,” warned climate strategy director Samantha Burgess.

In Europe, the month of November had an average temperature 1.38°C above the average for the period 1991 to 2020.

In Eastern Europe, Russia, the Balkans, and Turkey, the temperature was above average.

In northern Sweden, Finland, Iceland, northern Italy, and southern Germany, the temperature was below average.

Outside of Europe, there were above-average temperatures in the polar regions, northeastern Canada, the United States, the Arctic Ocean, and East Antarctica.

Negative temperature anomalies were recorded in Siberia.

November was also a wetter month than normal, with heavy and frequent rainfall.

In Southeast Asia, more than 1,100 people died due to torrential rains and floods, caused by a combination of tropical cyclones and monsoon rains.

Extreme drought conditions were also observed in several European countries, such as southern Spain, northern Italy, central Germany, Sweden, and southwestern Russia.

This situation only shows us how the decisions of COP 30 ignored the current reality and fell far short of the necessary decisions regarding carbon emissions.
